"I dream of living in a Philadelphia and in an America where race is [just] one factor that makes us indviduals, not the dominant [one]" -American Theater Magazine!

"We want our Uncle Tom's Cabin to feel immediate and human" -Philadelphia Magazine!

In 1852, Stowe's novel became an overnight sensation.  It sold millions of copies, became the best-selling book in America, and laid the groundwork for the Civil War and the end of slavery.  However, in the decades that followed, theatrical versions distorted the novel's message and fostered racial stereotypes.  EgoPo's provocative remounting, with a race reversed cast, revisits the original novel and invites a candid discussion of race in America.

Don't miss this very special theatrical production.

This play seeks to confront racism - content may be uncomfortable to some viewers.

Sponsored by Rowan University's College of Performing Arts and the Charlotte Cushman Foundation. Additional funding by the Puffin Foundation.
