Management Assistant

The Management Assistant will report directly to the Managing Director and assist them in all Administrative, Development, and Marketing areas as well as supporting the production staff. Entry-level and early-career applicants are encouraged to apply. 

Salary Range is 30 to 35k, plus a flexible vacation package with options for medical coverage contributions after 1 year of employment. Approximate start date July 1 or earlier. Associate Producer

The Associate Producer will report directly to the Managing Director and lead in Producing and Production Management areas as well as supporting the administrative staff.

Internships

EgoPo offers Fall, Winter, and Summer General Administration apprenticeships for those individuals focusing on a career in producing, marketing, development, and arts administration. The EgoPo program offers hands-on experience and an intensive look at nonprofit management. The ideal intern will thrive in an office setting and must have an interest in the management side of theater.

Candidates should be prepared to contribute to the heavy administrative needs that a smaller nonprofit office requires and have the ability to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment. Previous interns have gone on to work for differing parts of the industry including production management, development, and nonprofit management in the Philadelphia area. Description of the internship below:

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answering phones, handling mail, copying, scanning, filing, running errands

  • Computer assignments, conducting research, contributing to various reports

  • Additional unique projects, working directly with the Artistic Producer and Managing Director, are assigned as needed

 

NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Must be computer literate and have basic-to-intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Gmail

  • Self-motivated, responsible, organized, and detail oriented

  • Previous office experience is preferred

SEMESTERS AND APPLICATION DEADLINES

FALL SEMESTER

Fall semester internships begin early September and run through early January. Applicants should submit their cover letters and resumes during the month of June, before the Fall semester they would like to apply for.

WINTER/SPRING SEMESTER

Winter/Spring semester internships begin early January and run through early June. Applicants should submit their cover letters and resumes during the month of October before the Winter/Spring semester they would like to apply for.

SUMMER SEMESTER

Summer semester internships begin early June and run through the end of August. Applicants should submit their cover letters and resumes during the month of March before the Summer semester they would like to apply for.

OFFICE HOURS

Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm. Interns are asked to work up to 18 hours a week. 

COMPENSATION

$500 per semester. 

COLLEGE CREDIT

If you are a student seeking to fulfill a course requirement/credit through this internship, EgoPo will be happy to fill out any necessary paperwork.

Interns are able to take advantage of any Industry tickets offered to the office as available, as well as observe other aspects of the business including production development, stage management, advertising, and marketing. Volunteer with EgoPo

EgoPo needs assistance with our Mid-Season Social on March 25th at 12pm and Jessie Redmon Fauset's Plum Bun running April 19 through April 29. No previous experience or skills required. Please press the button below if you are interested. 

 

Volunteers are asked to show up at the Christ Church Neighborhood House (20 N. American St. Philadelphia, PA) an hour before the start of their selected event or performance. There are three volunteer positions per event and it is first come, first serve. Volunteers will be signed up to check-in guests and run a merchandise/concessions table as needed. Alec Lee Williams, Managing Director, will reach out upon availability.

Every volunteer for the Mid-Season Social will receive free food and drink with the ability to watch the panel. Every volunteer for Plum Bun will receive two tickets to the performances they work (themselves and a plus one).
