and the Ensemble
Directed by Brenna Geffers
The Golem is a world premiere piece built by EgoPo's ensemble of Philadelphia's top theater creators. Set on a train traveling from Prague in 1940 to an unknown destination in Poland, a diverse group of Jews use storytelling to conjure the monster and protector that lives in each of them. Incorporating live music performed by the cast as well as custom Czech marionettes, The Golem explores the need to protect, to understand, and to retaliate in the face of ultimate destruction.
