  • Lane Savadove

    CO-DIRECTOR

    Lane Savadove is the founding Artistic Director of EgoPo Classic Theater, now in its 28th year, and a Professor and Head of Acting and Directing at Rowan University. He has been an Independence Foundation Fellow, Drama League Directing Fellow, Shubert Fellow, and the first director to be awarded the Henry Luce Fellowship for which he served as the resident director of the National Cultural Center of Indonesia (1996-7). He has directed over 50 productions internationally, regionally, Off-Broadway, and on National Public Radio. Most recent productions for EgoPo include Adam Rapp’s Nocturne (2021) in a vacant parking lot, Beckett’s Rockaby (2020) through backyard windows, Tennessee Williams’ And Tell Sad Tells (2019) with tour to Provincetown Theater Festival. Other notable shows include: John Guare’s 10 hour Lydie Breeze Trilogy (2018), Beckett’s Company (NPR, Provincetown, SF, Chicago, NYC), Chekov’s The Seagull (2017 winner of the Barrymore Award for Best Production), Williams’ House Not Meant to Stand (Southern Rep.) and a dual version of Genet’s The Maids (New Orleans, Philly Fringe, Jean Cocteau). He holds his MFA in Directing from Columbia University and his BA from Haverford College. Lane has been a Professor of Acting and Directing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, The National University of Indonesia, and Loyola University, New Orleans, where he was Head of Directing.

  • Maria Tri Sulistyani

    CO-DIRECTOR

    Maria Tri Sulistyani Founded Papermoon Puppet Theatre that’s based in Yogyakarta-Indonesia on 2006 with no educational background of puppetry, makes puppetry becomes a never-ending experimental journey for her. Her first puppet show premiered in 2006 and has been going strong ever since. Hailing from Indonesia, Maria takes on stories from our daily lives and translates them more to an adult audience. Her puppets are for everyone, and she continues to bring light and poignant storytelling to audiences all over the globe.

    Papermoon makes performances, visual arts projects, and facilitate workshops with wide-range age of audiences, and also initiated two independent international festivals.

  • Ibed S. Yuga

    CO-DIRECTOR

    Ibed S. Yuga is a writer, editor, and theatre director interested in the intersection of texts, spatial discourses, and bodily relations. He founded Kalanari Theatre Movement (2012), a cultural movement through theatre, and has been the director and playwright there until now. As a theatre director, his theatre works are mostly site-specific and reinforce/question the relationship between space, text, and body. He is also a body movement practitioner. He has staged his works, given workshops, and collaborated in several countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Ireland, the UK, and China. As a playwright, Ibed has published some plays and received awards from the Indonesian Theatre Federation (2008 & 2011), the Ministry of Education and Culture (2017 & 2021), and the Rawayan Award (2022).

  • Dirk Durossette

    SCENIC DESIGNER

    Dirk Durossette has been designing scenery and teaching design, for the past 20 years in and around the Philadelphia region. Off-Broadway scene designs include: The Outgoing Tide and Any Given Monday. He has designed for Amaryllis Theater Company, Azuka Theater, Act II Playhouse, Enchantment Theater Company, Theater Exile, 1812 Productions, Delaware Theatre Company, EgoPo Classic Theatre, Freedom Theater, Flashpoint Theater, Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium, InterAct Theater Company, Lantern Theater, Luna Theater, Theater Horizon, Philadelphia Shakespeare Theater, Shakepeare in Clark Park Mumpuppettheatre, Portland Opera (Maine), The Wilma Theater, Temple Theaters, Temple Opera Theater, University of the Arts, Drexel University, Lawrence University (Wisconsin), Peabody Institute (Baltimore), West Chester University, Villanova University, The University of Memphis, Upper Darby Summer Stage. He has taught theatrical design at The University of the Arts, Temple University, Ocean County College, and Villanova University. He currently serves as a full-time faculty member in Theatre at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

  • Dane Eissler

    CO-COSTUME DESIGNER

    Dane Eissler is a theater maker and visual artist. In Philly, Dane has worked with Azuka, BRAT, Blind Faith, and EgoPo, where he directed Buried Child, UND3RGR0UND, Alice, and The Nose; co-directed Stairs to the Roof and The Ways of White Folks; designed Queens and Rockaby; and performed in Lydie Breeze and The Seagull. In Chicago, Dane was the founding artistic director of A Dead Whale Productions, and worked with Rough House Theater, Whiskey Rebellion Theatre, Megan Stalter's Freakfest, and The Annoyance.   • Retno Intiani

    CO-COSTUME DESIGNER

    Retno Intiania graduated in communications majoring in broadcasting in Yogyakarta. a freelance stylist, she first joined as a costumer at Papermoon on Circus of Life in 2011 which was exhibited on the Esplanade (Singapore). She also made costumes for the Marine Boys Project (Artjog). Suara Muara in Singapore currently still manages a handmade clothing shop with the brand Gealluinti.

  • J "Mo'ong" Santoso Pribadi

    COMPOSER/MUSIC DIRECTOR

    J “Mo’ong” Santoso Pribadi is an experimental music composer and instrument builder. His main area of study is music Nusantara, or the music of Indonesia. Mo’ong started his studies in Western classical music with a major in double bass, but soon moved back to his roots to explore the wisdom of Javanese folklore, He continued his Masters studies in the arts at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Surakarta, receiving a graduate degree in music composition supervised by composer Rahayu Supanggah. He was selected as a young emerging composer on IRC+ (International Rostrum of Composer) in 2015. Mo’ong has been involved with a variety of national and international projects in many different genres of music, and with multidisciplinary projects within modern dance, modern theater, contemporary puppet theater, installation art, and performance art. In 2015 he initiated the Limbah Berbunyi project, where he created and composed musical instruments from found objects or junk. Another recent work, Raja Kirik, is a Duo Experimental with musician/composer Yennu Ariendra about the war of narratives during the Dutch occupation in Indonesia. He has also worked as a sound designer and written music for several independent films.

  • Mugiyono Kasido

    VALMIKI BODY, ET AL

    Mugiyono Kasido is a choreographer and master dancer. His works is contemporary dance based on tradition that develop into self expression and touring to 25 country in five continent since 1993- present.

    Founder and leader of Mugidance company an as artistic director of International Rain Festival (IRF)2015- present. Mugi also teach dance workshop in many countries. He already created more than choreography both Solo and group. He has Museum Record Indonesia (MURI) certificate for dance and choregraph nonstop 36 hour 36 minute in 2011 in Jakarta. Mugi also collaborate with artist aboard such as Virpi Pahkinen (Sweden), Jin Hi Kim (USA/Korea), Thitipol Kanteewong (Thai), Yuan Moro O 'Campo (The Philipines), Woo Min Young (South Korea), Ria Hagler (The Netherland) etc.

  • Damien J. Wallace*

    Damien is pleased to be a part of this transcontinental labor of love. He is honored to share the stage with an amazing group of varied artists and humans. He would like to thank Lane Savadove for including him in his fearless vision of adjoining these amazing artist together. The process that included a life changing 6 week stay in Java Indonesia collaborating with these superpower induced artist. Damien is widely known for his work in the August Wilson century cycle.some of Damien’s notable roles with EgoPo are Dodge in Buried Child, Sam Semala of Master Harold and the Boys, UG Man in Notes from the Underground and lastly, as Abioseh in Les Blancs. Additionally, Damien also has an extensive resume as a director and educator. Damien was formerly trained under the tutelage of Lee Srasburg disciple Ty Collins and Stella Adler protégé Vernon Blackman. Damien holds a BFA with Distinguished Honors degree in Theatre from Arcadia University.

  • Gusbang Sada

    RAMA, ET AL

    Gusbang Sada was born in Bali, April 29 1993. He started his career as a Balinese dancer when he was 10 years old and his career as a choreographer at the age of 20 when he studied at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. Apart from being a dancer and choreographer, Gusbang Sada also works as a lecturer at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar. He has produced many contemporary dance works, starting from 2014 until now. Some of the latest work titles he has created in the last five years include: Rajapala (2020), Buron Peken (2020), Bang Bungkem (2021), and Sejak Padi Mengakar (2022).

  • Melanie Julian*

    Melanie Julian is happy to return to EgoPo after having performed with the company in The Women, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gint, The Assassination of Jesse James, The Seagull, Curse of the Starving Class and as the title character in The Lydie Breeze Trilogy by John Guare. She has been a full-time faculty member at Temple University’s Department of Theater since 2008. She has worked as an actor throughout the country, including: the Mondavi Arts Center, Soho Playhouse, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Penumbra Theatre, the Minnesota Orchestra, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Sacramento Theatre Company, and Mauckingbird Theatre Company. Melanie is also the very proud mother of 9-year old Emmeline.

    Ross Beschler is a founding member of the Wilma Theatre’s Hothouse ensemble, and a member of the site-specific performance collective Die-Cast. Ross teaches voice and acting at Rowan University.     Agus Margiyanto was a member and actor of the Solo Space Theater group from 1997-2002, a graduate of the Surakarta Indonesian Art Institute - Department of Dance - Choreography.     Annette is so excited for this wonderful opportunity to be collaborating with such a talented and fantastic group of such accomplished and creative humans. You have seen her recently in EgoPo’s Les Blancs and The Ways of White Folks. She has performed with numerous theaters in the region, including the Lantern Theatre, Philadelphia Artists Collective, Delaware Shakespeare, Hedgerow Theatre, and The Shakespeare Theatre.   • Anton Fajri

    ENSEMBLE

    Having majored in visual communication design at Sekolah Menengah Seni Rupa (Senior High School of Art) Yogyakarta, Anton joined Papermoon Puppet Theatre in 2008 as a technical engineer, puppet builder, puppeteer and set builder. He has since been an integral part of the company's artistic team.

  • Andika Ananda

    Many work as an actors and theatre facilitators for community empowerment. Andika is the one of Kalanari Theatre Movement founders. Since 2016 he has been involved in the Empowerment Arts program with the goverment in West Tulang Bawang Regency in –Lampung (Sumatra). The project has a concern with the education alternative and become the part of developing Tubaba as a cultural an multicultiral city. In 2019 make “Tubaba Art School” for growing up the program. Currently Andika preparing several intercultural art projects with Kultura collectiva to be projected in 2024 and 2025.s

  • Kinanti Sekar Rahina

    ENSEMBLE

    Kinanti Sekar Rahina, A dance artist from Yogyakarta, is the only daughter of artist Jenek Supardi, Indonesian Pantomime maestro, and Thereeda Mayrayanti, a painter. Kinanti Sekar Rahina started her artistic career at the age of 5. In 2012 she completed her undergraduate studies at ISI Yogyakarta. After that she worked on a variety of projects large and small. Some of his works are works that are steeped in Javanese philosophy and contain elements spiritual, magical. Apart from working, Sekar Rahina also finds time to teach at several places and founded the Kinanti Sekar Art Studio which includes dance, wayang, Javanese script, karawitan and macapat.

  • Pambo Priyojati Ranu Handoko

    Pambo Graduated from the school of Interior Design at the Indonesian Institute of Art of Yogyakarta. From that time he started to work as drafter, exhibition designer,and interior designer. Having danced since junior high, he was also competing in national and international Latin Dance competitions. One day he found a new magical thing when he came to see the puppet theater in Yogyakarta Indonesia 2013 performed by Papermoon. In 2015 he auditioned to join Papermoon and joined their ensemble, playing one of the puppets he saw that first performance. He is grateful for being part of the performing arts where he's met incredible people and formed beautiful friendships. Puppertry is another way to understand life, because it all starts from the Breath.

  • Davey Strattan White

    Davey White is a playwright, performer, and director of the Off Center in Staunton, VA, where his play Dad’s Original Tangy BBQ Sauce will be presented in the fall. Past Egopo productions include Alice, Buried Child, Company, and The Lydia Breeze Trilogy. He performed his solo show, Gintry, a Play with Drinks several times in association with DieCast. His written work has been seen with DieCast, PlayPenn New Play Conference, Plays and Players, Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company’s @Play Festival, New Leaf Theatre (Chicago), Maples Rep (MO), and The Cardboard Box Collaborative.

    As an actor, he’s performed at The Wilma Theater, Indiana Repertory Theatre, InterAct Theatre Company, DieCast, EgoPo Classic Theatre, Delaware Shakespeare Festival, Commonwealth Classic Theatre, and others. He holds an MFA in Playwriting, and an MFA in Acting from Temple University.

  • Retno Sulistyorini

    Retno Sulistyorini started studying dancing at the age of 15 at the Indonesian Karawitan Middle School (SMKI) Surakarta and continued to attend the Indonesian Arts High School (STSI) in Surakarta (now ISI Surakarta). As a dance artist, Retno Sulistyorini has been involved and collaborated with several choreographers, directors and visual artists, including: Sardono W. Kusumo, Eko Supriyanto, Djarot B. Darsono, Melati Suryodarmo, Goenawan Mohammad, Mugiyono Kasido, Astari Rasjid, Suprapto Suryodarmo , Agus Margiyanto and others. He Has received the Grand Empowering Women Artists from the Kelola Foundation in 2010 & 2011. Has received the Kelola Foundation Innovative Arts Grant in 2007, 2015, 2019. Has participated in the Cultural Exchange Program in New York, Chicago. She has participated in the Tata Foundation's Female Artist Platform - Da'ns Lab in Singapore. Had a workshop with Xavier La Roy; Thomas Lehmon; Susanne Linke; Tan Fue Kuen; Lin Hwa Min. Retno Sulistyorini is still active in dancing and making dance works. Several of Retno's dance works have been performed at home and abroad, such as: Nine Pearls of Heaven, SELAPAN (dance film), WOMB, NOISE, Waktu Lingkar, GARBA, Kanan Dan Kiri, SELAPAN, API, ROMAN, LABIRIN, Pagi Yang Pungut, KLISE , Ruang Dalam Tubuh, Tubuh Bisu, Samparan Moving Space, KUMARI, NAFAS, PISAU.

  • Paradox Polluck

    ENSEMBLE

    Paradox Pollack's participation in Ego Po's Ramayana brings his vast experience in the entertainment industry, spanning four decades from experimental theater to significant Hollywood projects. His career began in Philadelphia in 1984 with Greg Giovanni's "Big Mess Theater." Paradox moved to San Francisco in 1993 and contributed to the early work of Ego Po Classic Theater under Lane Savadove. Pollack founded two circuses, Dream Circus and Mystic Family Circus, touring internationally and creating showcase pieces for the Cirque Du Soleil. Paradox's Hollywood collaborations include work with directors J.J. Abrams, Kenneth Branagh, and Francis Lawrence on acclaimed films like "Thor," "Star Trek," "I Am Legend," and notably, his role in cultural design for Apple TV's "See," where his leadership in the Movement Department crafted a unique visual language for a world without sight.

    His dedication to exploring the foundational aspects of theater has led him to integrate traditional and contemporary methods into creating rich, believable characters and stories. This expertise has been instrumental in enhancing the physicality and presence of actors across a spectrum of roles, enriched by his training with Broadway veteran Patrick Page and collaborations with Second Unit Director and Stunt legend Vic Armstrong.

    Now based in Indonesia, Pollack is deeply engaged in Balinese Kecak, furthering his commitment to cultural preservation and exchange. His efforts to establish a film studio in Indonesia aim to bring Indonesian culture and talent to the forefront of the global stage. Pollack's return to Ego Po for the Ramayana not only marks a return to his theatrical roots but also brings a lifetime of cross-cultural experience and innovation in performance art to this epic production.

  • M. Dinu Imansyah

    ENSEMBLE

    M. Dinu Imansyah is an actor, director, dancer, art facilitator, and storyteller from Malang, East Java with a bachelor degree in German Language Studies and Master degree in Performing Art and Fine Art Studies. Dinu currently lives in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
